Ice Skating, Zimbabwe, Tripp, the Nuggets, and Steamboat!!!

Last weekend, I took Allison ice skating at the rink near my apartment. Considering I hadn't been ice skating in years, and since I'm recovering from knee surgery, it was a milestone of sorts. Other than that, I've been keeping busy.

A few weeks ago, Allison and I went to Boulder to see the the Motet in concert, which was cool, but we all ended up enjoying the opening act more. It was a band called Pachedu and they played Zimbabwean (or as Brett says, Zimbabwegian) music. It sounded a lot like Paul Simon music, but it just gave off this happy vibe. I'd recommend checking it out if you're looking for some world music.

A week ago today, Tripp arrived in town and was passing through from Cincinnati to California. I headed up to Boulder for some good food and some reminiscing and had a great time.

Tonight, I'm heading to see the Nuggets play the Mavericks. This is my third Nuggets game this year. Tony (who just moved here from Houston and went to Miami U. with us), Brett, and I saw them earlier this year and had some pretty poor seats, but they won, so we were happy even though Melo was out with a sprained ankle. The last time, I got to sit in my friend Kristin's skybox, which was way cool. Turns out this might be a recurring thing, so I'm off to the skybox again tonight! I love it here!

Tomorrow, Allison, Brett, Tony, Tony's fiance Shelly, and I are heading up to Steamboat Springs for the weekend. I'm looking forward to spending the weekend with Allison, tubing down a mountain (not quite ready for skiing yet), snowshoeing, and some hot spring action. Steamboat broke their annual snowfall record this year, so it should be an awesome time.
