Valentine's Day
Earlier this week, I caught some crazy mega-virus that has caused me to miss work and lose my voice. So Valentine's Day rolled around, and nothing was going according to plan, but when I got to my Jeep after work, on my windshield was a card and a giant, solid, chocolate fish in a box that said "You're a keeper". That made me feel pretty darn good. I had planned to make dinner for Valentine's Day, but I figured I shouldn't be handling another person's food while I'm sick, so I'm just hoping to get back to normal pretty soon, since we had to reschedule. I did end up taking her out for ice cream though, and on the way I kept pulling out gifts. It started with a card and a bag of candy, followed by a rose, followed by a personalized lab coat for her upcoming PT classes. I think I did ok for my first Valentine's Day in about 7 years, and the best part is that I still have dinner to look forward to. Good times!
